WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY OWNED HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA

WELL, OUR HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA  WEBSITE ANYWAY!

RHODE ISLAND REDS FROM BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
HERITAGE RHODE ISLAND RED PULLET FROM OUR HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA. NOTICE THE DARK BRICK RED COLOR AND THE YELLOW LEGS.

OUR HATCHERY IS CALLED OLD BIDDY HATCHERY AND IT IS A SMALL, FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED HATCHERY. (I named it after my wife and we are located at 3673 Brick Church Road, Burlington, NC) WE ARE NOW COMPLETELY HATCHING HERITAGE, HEIRLOOM AND ENDANGERED CHICKENS. NO MORE DUCKS, GUINEA FOWL OR ANYTHING BUT CHICKENS. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVIENCE.

I HAVE HAD A STRKE AND TWO HEART ATTACKS SO I’M HAVAING TO SLOW DOWN BY ORDERS OF MY DOCTOR AND ALL THE CHIN MUSIC FROM MY WIFE!!!

WE MAY CONTINUE AMERAUCANAS BUT THIS IS STILL DEBATABLE AT THIS POINT….DEPENDS ON WHAT I CAN SLIP BY THAT MEAN OLD WARDEN, I MEAN WOMAN!!!

NOTHING BEATS A GOOD FRESH FARM RAISED BROILER!!!

HERE AT OUR LITTLE FAMILY OWNED HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NC WE MAY ALSO DO SOME BROILERS FROM TIME TO TIME BECAUSE I CAN HATCH THOSE AND SELL THEM QUICKLY WITHOUT ADDING MUCH TO MY WORK LOAD INSTEAD OF RAISING THEM TO PULLET AGE LIKE I DO MANY OF THE LAYING BREEDS.

OLD BIDDY’S CUSTOM MADE LAYER FEED

CHICKEN FEED IN NORTH CAROLINA
OUR HEALTHY CUSTOM MADE SOY FREE, NON GENETICALLY MODIFIED ALL GRAIN LAYER FEED WITH NO CORN OR SOY!

OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA ALSO HAS IT’S OWN HEALTHY CUSTOM MADE FEED NOW!!! OUR FEED IS CORN AND SOY FREE. IT ALSO HAS NO GENETICALLY MODIFIED GRAINS!!! IT’S A 20% PROTEIN ALL GRAIN LAYER FEED WITH NO HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS!!! CHICKENS PREFER GRAIN RATHER THAN PELLETS OR CRUMBLES AND OUR CHICKENS LOVE THIS FEED. MOST COMMERCIALLY PRODUCED PELLET AND CRUMBLE TYPE FEEDS HAVE LOTS OF FILLERS LIKE CLAY AND BY-PRODUCTS!!! I’VE EVEN BEEN TOLD BY SOME IN THE FEED BUSINESS THEY USE GROUND UP CARDBOARD. THE LABELS SAY ALL NATURAL BINDERS. I HATE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT CARDBOARD IS MADE FROM PINE WOOD SO IT’S ALL NATURAL…IT’S FROM A TREE. IF YOU’VE EVER BOUGHT PELLETS THAT WERE REAL SHINY THEY USE WAX AS A BINDER!!! SEE OUR FEED PAGES BY CLICKING ON THE PAGE YOU’RE INTERESTED IN FROM OUR MAIN MENU. THANKS.

OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
BLUE AMERAUCANA HEN

WE HAD HOPED TO ADD A NEW BREED OR TWO EVERY YEAR TO OUR HATCHERY BUT WITH THE STROKE AND HEART ATTACKS, I DON’T THINK WE WILL GET ANY BIGGER TILL I GET BACK UP TO SPEED.

AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE PREVIOUS STATEMENT PUBLISHED IN LATE 2019…I AM BETTER AND OLD BIDDY HATCHERY WILL BE  ADDING (I HOPE) BROILERS IN 2022. DON’T KNOW FOR SURE YET. THIS WILL BE A MUCH LESS STRESSFUL PROJECT.

WITH THE HELP OF A FRIEND, WE’RE EVEN WORKING ON AN OLD HERITAGE BREED BROILER THAT IS ACTUALLY ON THE ENDANGERED LIST. WE HAVE HOPES OF BRINGING IT BACK TO THE POINT OF REINTRODUCING THEM TO SMALL FAMILY FARMS SO THEY CAN AGAIN BE USED FOR MEAT PRODUCTION, HOWEVER IF WE PULL THIS OFF IT WILL TAKE A FEW YEARS TO GET THEM GOING AGAIN.

I’VE HAD A STRKE AND TWO HEART ATTACKS BUT I’M NOT READY TO SIT AROUND AND WAIT TO DIE SO I’ll BE WORKING ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH CHICKENS TILL GOD CALLS ME HOME…AND YOU CAN BET ON THAT!!!

OUR HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA IS COMMITTED TO HERITAGE BREED PRESERVATION!!!

WE ARE PARTICULARLY HAPPY ABOUT THE ADDITION OF THE DOMINIQUE BREED BECAUSE THIS IS THE OLDEST CHICKEN BREED IN AMERICA  AND IS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN BROUGHT OVER BY THE PILGRIMS, THEREFORE THEY ARE ALSO CALLED THE PILGRIM CHICKEN! CLICK HERE

THE DOMINIQUE IS ALSO BELIEVED TO BE THE BREED THAT THE BARRED PLYMOUTH ROCK CAME FROM AND THE DOMINIQUE WAS ALMOST PUSHED TO EXTINCTION BY THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BARRED PLYMOUTH ROCK. CLICK HERE

IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT FROM US BEFORE OR EVEN TALKED TO ME ON THE PHONE YOU PROBABLY KNOW MY COMMITMENT TO PRESERVING HERITAGE BREEDS OF ANY FARM ANIMAL!!!

MY COMMITMENT TO PRESERVING HERITAGE BREEDS

MY COMMITMENT TO MYSELF FOR PRESERVATION OF THESE BIRDS AND ANIMALS IS WHY I HAVE GONE TO GREAT LENGTHS TO FIND THESE BIRDS SO I CAN HELP RETURN THEM TO FARMS EVERYWHERE!!! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP PLEASE CONTACT ME TO GET SOME FOR YOUR YARD OR FARM!!! PAUL MANN 336-449-9574 THANKS!!!

THIS IS JUST A PERSONAL THING BUT I WANT OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN TO SEE THE BIRDS AND ANIMALS THAT OUR GRANDPARENTS HAD ON THEIR FARMS INSTEAD OF JUST PICTURES IN A BOOK!!!

PEOPLE COME UP WITH A NEW AND IMPROVED VERSION OF A FARM ANIMAL OR BIRD AND DRIVE THE HERITAGE BREED TO EXTINCTION. I DON’T LIKE THAT!!!

I DON’T MIND THE IMPROVED VERSION, BUT PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SAVE THE HERITAGE BREED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO HAVE AND ENJOY FOR THEMSELVES!!!

OUR LITTLE FAMILY OWNED HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA TAKES A LOT OF TIME AND LOTS OF WORK TO KEEP IT GOING BECAUSE WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING BY HAND. WE TAKE PRIDE IN OUR COMMITMENT TO PRESERVATION OF HERITAGE BREEDS AND THE FARMING PRACTICES OF OUR FAMILIES!!! MY WIFE COMES FROM A FARMING FAMILY TOO!!!

OUR LITTLE FAMILY OWNED HATCHERY TAKES A LOT OF TIME!

STARTING OUR HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NC

NOW, LET ME TELL YOU HOW THIS LITTLE HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA GOT STARTED…WHEN MY HEART WENT BAD I RETIRED SO MY WIFE DECIDED I NEEDED SOMETHING TO DO TO GET ME OUT OF THE HOUSE…AND OUT OF HER HAIR, SO ALONG CAME THE HATCHERY,  BUT IT TOOK A YEAR OR TWO.

GUINEA FOWL IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
AFRICAN WHITE GUINEA AT OLD BIDDY HATCHERY, BURLINGTON,NC

ACTUALLY, SHE WANTED A LITTLE RED HEN FOR A PET, SO I BOUGHT HER 4 AND THAT GREW TO ABOUT 35 CHICKENS OF DIFFERENT BREEDS, BUT WE DIDN’T HATCH ANYTHING AT FIRST, WE ONLY SOLD EGGS. ACTUALLY, I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT HATCHING CHICKS AT THIS POINT!!! I ALSO HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH I WOULD ENJOY HATCHING EGGS OF ALL KINDS!!!

THIS IS THE REST OF THE STORY, AND THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NC STARTED…WITH PRACTICALLY NO MONEY AT ALL!!! I WAS UNEMPLOYED!!!

AMERAUCANA CHICKS IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
MIXED COLOR AMERAUCANA HEN

I HAD A REFRIGERATOR IN THE GARAGE WHERE I PUT EGGS AND PEOPLE CAME BY, GOT THEIR EGGS AND LEFT THE MONEY. ONE DAY I WENT TO PUT EGGS IN OUR REFRIGERATOR AND IT WAS FULL SO I ASKED GOD WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH ALL THE EGGS I WAS GETTING SINCE THEY WEREN’T SELLING AS FAST AS I WAS GETTING THEM…I HEARD HIM SAY START HATCHING. (I am a believer and God does speak if you listen)

GUINEA FOWL IN NORTH CAROLINA
GUINEA FOWL TROOP STANDING GUARD!

LIKE I SAID, I WAS UNEMPLOYED AND NOT DRAWING A PENNY UNEMPLOYMENT OR ANYTHING ELSE AT THE TIME. SO I SAID OKAY LORD IF YOU WANT ME TO HATCH EGGS SEND ME AN INCUBATOR AND HE DID!!! IT WAS A SMALL STYROFOAM ONE WITH A FOURTY THREE EGG TURNER…BUT IT WORKED GREAT!

A FREE ONE!!! THAT STARTED OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA!!!

INCUBATING EGGS
THIS IS HOW OUR HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA STARTED

WHEN THE FIRST BUNCH OF CHICKS HATCHED I PUT THEM ON THE INTERNET AND THEY WERE GONE THE FIRST DAY.

I PULLED THE AD AND PEOPLE KEPT CALLING FOR TWO WEEKS WANTING CHICKS, OF COARSE I HAD RELOADED THE LITTLE INCUBATOR BUT I HAD TO WAIT FOR THEM TO HATCH.

HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA
ROYAL PURPLE GUINEA FOWL KEETS

I QUICKLY SAW HOW THIS WAS WORKING AND I ASKED GOD FOR A LARGER INCUBATOR. AGAIN, HE ANSWERED…HE SENT ME AN ANTIQUE PLYWOOD INCUBATOR, BUILT IN THE 1940s THAT HELD OVER 1000 EGGS. GOD WORKED IT OUT SO I WAS ABLE TO TRADE 25 HENS AND 2 ROOSTERS FOR IT…NO MONEY!

HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
NEW HATCH AMERAUCANA CHICKS

I STILL USE IT TODAY AND IT STILL WORKS GREAT!!! I’LL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU IF YOU STOP BY. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER VINTAGE INCUBATOR BUILT IN THE 1960s, IT ALSO HOLDS OVER 1000 EGGS AND I LOVE THEM BOTH!!! THEY BOTH STAY ABOUT FULL ALL SUMMER EVERY YEAR TOO!!!

OUR FIRST COMMERCIAL INCUBATOR AT OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA!

PEKIN DUCKS
ADULT PEKIN DUCKS-NO POND NEEDED, JUST A KIDS POOL

THE FIRST ONE WAS SO LARGE I DIDN’T HAVE A PLACE TO PUT IT AND I ASKED GOD TO SEND ME SOMETHING TO BUILD A SHED WITH, AND AGAIN HE ANSWERED!!!

A MAN CALLED WANTING A DOZEN HATCHING EGGS AND AS WE TALKED I TOLD HIM HOW I LET MY BULLDOG MOUTH OVERLOAD MY PEKINGESE BUTT. HE ASKED IF I NEEDED SOME LUMBER, I SAID YES BUT I HAD NO JOB AND NO MONEY.

WHITE GUINEA KEETS
AFRICAN WHITE GUINEA FOWL KEETS

TURNS OUT, HE HAD A LUMBER YARD TO CLEAN OUT SO GOD SUPPLIED MY NEED AGAIN THROUGH THIS MAN AND I BUILT A 32X34 BUILDING WITH THE LUMBER!!! YOU CAN SEE IT TOO IF YOU COME VISIT! THIS IS WHERE I KEEP MY INCUBATORS AND MY CHICKS!!! TO SWEETEN THE POT GOD GAVE ME ENOUGH LUMBER TO BLESS ONE OF THE NEIGHBORS WITH LUMBER TO ADD ON TO HIS PENS AS WELL!!! AGAIN, I SPENT NO MONEY!!!

GOD IS GREAT AND WILL DO ABOVE ANYTHING YOU CAN ASK OR THINK…AND HE PROVED IT TO ME!!!

WHEN GOD GIVES YOU SOMETHING HE TAKES CARE OF IT ALL!!! AND I GIVE HIM THE CREDIT FOR BUILDING OLD BIDDY HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA BECAUSE HE DID IT!!! NOT ME!!!

RHODE ISLAND RED PULLET
OLD BIDDY HATCHERY’S HERITAGE BREED RHODE ISLAND REDS.

BACK TO THE CHICKENS. WE BOTH REALLY LIKED THE RHODE ISLAND REDS SO WE SOLD OFF THE OTHER BREEDS.

AFTER THAT I STARTED HATCHING A FEW AND IT GREW INTO OUR LITTLE HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA.

WE HAVE SINCE ADDED THE DUCKS, THE AMERAUCANAS AND THE GUINEA FOWL AS WELL AS OTHER CHICKEN BREEDS!!! GOD HAS EXPANDED OUR HATCHERY IN NORTH CAROLINA AND CONTINUES TO BLESS US BEYOND ANYTHING WE THOUGHT POSSIBLE!!!

I DECIDED TO NAME THE HATCHERY BACK AFTER MY WIFE SINCE CHICKENS WERE HER IDEA  AND ALONG CAME “OLD BIDDY HATCHERY”!!!

  1. I would like to meet you both not only because I need 2 or 3 pellets, but mainly due to your testimony. What a powerful message of what God can do! Praise the Lord for your blessings!

    1. Hi Marsha, sorry I’ve been so long getting back to you but I had a heart attack last of April. My wife is doing about all the chicken work, then we had a pipe burst end of May so I’ve been messing with the insurance company ever since. This Covid 19 thing has getting things fixed at a crawl….as a friend of mine always said, when God starts blessing the Devil starts messing! Guess what, he can just go on back to Hell because even in the mess God is still blessing and we’re still doing great…just a lot slower! My number is 336-449-9574 if you still need to get some pullets, I’d love to meet you and show you all the things God has done for us so give me a call

  2. Hi there! I am interested in Khaki Campbell pullets or even mature hens to offset my drakes. Do you have any for sale? Pekín would be great too. I look forward to hearing from you. Be well!

    1. Hi, sorry I’ve been so long getting back to you. I don’t have any Khakis at the moment. The cold and rain my duck eggs aren’t hatching. I should have them in March. It will be babies and straight run. I don’t have any big ducks I can sell I’m using all them for hatching eggs. Sorry.

    1. Hello stranger, I got some hatching tomorrow (3/2/21) should be ready to go Thursday or Friday. Good to hear from you again, call me and we’ll get you fixed up with a time. See Ya, Paul Mann

        1. Hi Shannon, I’m sorry but we don’t raise Barred Rocks. I have the Dominique which is the heritage breed that the Barred Rock was bred from. It is a more docile breed and seems to do better around children if that matters to you. It is also a better forager if you plan to free range. The Dominique is also the oldest chicken breed in America and is called the Pilgrim Chicken since it is believed to have been brought here by the Pilgrims. Google the two breeds before you decide on the Barred Rock, you may like the Dominique better. I don’t check my comments or my email a lot so call me if I can help you in any way at 336-449-9574. THANKS, PAUL

  3. Hi Paul. I’m hoping to get two female ducks, preferably Pekin. Do you have any available. Any age works. We have chickens which is why I am only looking for females. Thank you.

    1. I’m sorry but I don’t have any I can part with. I’m using them for eggs to go in the incubator at this time. I will have babies in a few weeks. I will be selling them for 8 dollars and they will be straight run because I don’t sex them.

  4. Hey there, I’m interested in getting some Blue Ameraucana pullets, well really any color Ameraucana. Do you have any right now? Even chicks are fine. I love the breed!! Thank you!!

    1. Hey Shannon, I don’t have any pullets of any kind now, they have all been bought up. I will have chicks April 14. Please give me a call at 336-449-9574 and we can get you lined up to get some of them. I don’t know what colors I’ll have till they hatch. Thanks, Paul.

  5. Paul,
I’ve been working on the coop for the past 2 months. I’m ready to go with some chicks and I like your commitment to keeping the breeds pure and protected. I’m in need of 6 chick pets. Can you help. Need variety of breeds that you offer but at the same time, ASAP.
    Thanks,
    DeAnne

    1. Hi Deanne, I’m sure I can help you with chicks so give me a call at 336-449-9574. I keep the phone on me about all the time but I don’t check my email or website comments very often, I just don’t have time to sit around on the computer. Thanks, Paul

  6. We happened upon this hatchery after visiting a local chain store that did not have baby chicks. What a blessing, not only did we come home with 10 beautiful healthy Rhode Island Reds, but also an education and many tips on how to care for them. Now I see this was no coincidence. This mans testimony is remarkable and inspiring. God, as always, lead our path to this family and their homestead. Highly recommend a visit, we will most certainly be back!!! In him we live and thrive. Thank you!!!!

    1. Thank you and I’m glad I could help you as well as share a little of what God has done for me. I am truly blessed to have people come in that He sends my way. He started this and has blessed it to grow beyond my dreams. SEE YA SOON!

  7. hey Paul – I live in Yanceyville and am really close to finishing up expanding my chicken pen and coop set-up. I’m pretty new to chickens and had 2 RIR’s for several years and would like to get 4-6 pullets and start over again with the heritage breed. I’m afraid to start with little chicks as I have NO experience with the little bitties. Is it possible to get almost-grown chickens from you? I know they will cost more but I can discuss fair prices with you if you’re willing. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you whenever you have the time.

    1. I have 8 week old pullets that are ready to go outside but will need heat if the weather gets down in the 20s. They are 15 each and ready for pick up anytime. Call me to set up a time if your interested in them at 336-449-9574. Thanks.

      1. thanks for getting back to me; let me get the top on the chicken pen (will take a few days as I am old and slow) and I will give you a call.

  8. Hey Paul,
These RIR’s I got from you are coming along. I lost one early on but the rest are doing nicely. I was curious what difference I’d see between them and modern production birds. The only difference I’ve been able to pick up on so far is that they’re growing and developing more slowly than my other birds. I got a couple other breeds at the same time and the reds definitely grow and feather out. slower. Interesting to watch. I wonder how often these reds tend to grow broody in your experience, have you seen much of that?

    1. The heritage have yellow legs, are much more docile and friendly, they will go broody about once per year and are great mamas. The production have almost white legs, are a more aggressive chicken with roosters being down right mean and the seldom go broody. As you said the heritage is a little slower growing and feathering.

    1. I will have in about 6 weeks. I’m waiting on them to start laying. Sorry but they are seasonal layers and just starting to lay a little.bit.

  9. Hello! We are looking to get our first chicks around mid June. I am adamant about buying them locally and loved reading your posts. Will you have any chicks available mid to end of June? Thank you!
    Jaclyn

    1. Yes I will. I hatch from Feb-Sept every year. I don’t know where you are located but if you would like, you can come visit, look around and see what you like without buying anything. That will give you some ideas of what to get in June and you can make a more informed decision.

      1. Hi Paul,
Thank you, that would be great! Do you have availability for us to come visit next weekend?
        Jaclyn

  10. Hey, so around the first week in April my husband & I purchased 7 chicks from you. Supposed to be Dominique. Out of the 7 literally 2 are definitely Dominique and I have absolutely no clue what the other 5 are. They are black, black beaks, black feet with yellow underneath and some are now showing a little copperish brown lacing on their wings. I’m not even that irritated I’d just like to know what in the world kind of chicks they are so when I rehome them (or possibly keep them idk yet) I can let people know what I have. We literally drove 4 hours to get these chicks that are totally not all Dominique 😑 if you can please let me know what they are I’d appreciate it. Also out of the 7 I have only ended up with ONE Dominique hen the other is MOST DEFINITELY a Roo 🤣

    1. I’m so sorry and i don’t know what they could be. That’s baffling unless John (my breeder) picked up something incorrectly. He’s usually very good. Let me check with him and see what he thinks and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I hate I’ve been so long getting back but I had a heart attack Friday the 15th and just got home from the hospital so I’m playing catch-up.

    2. Hello again Caree, Like I told you I’m new to the Dominique breed as far as raising them, but I have been researching your problem and it appears that the yellow on the belly is common as they grow. As far as the copperish color on the wings, I’m baffled. None of the ones I still have from that hatch have that on them. It may be that they are getting their adult colors as their feathers are coming out. If you don’t mind let’s give them a couple more weeks and see if that may be the case. If not I’ll gladly refund your money or get you some more chicks from the next hatch. John has no idea what’s going on either because they are kept separately from any other breeds. Please give me a call so we can get this taken care of because if there is a flaw in the genetics I need to know about it ASAP so I can cull the bad out. like I said, I’m very picky about my birds genes. Thanks for letting me know. I’m going to watch the ones I kept closer too.

      1. Caree, I’m noticing some of mine aren’t looking correct either. Mine are staying very black instead of becoming the grey and white strips that should be there. I’ll gladly refund your money or get you some more chicks. I have some coming from another breeder in a few weeks. The stock birds John has look good but I’m not so sure about them now or he got some other breed mixed up in his chicks. He hatches several breeds in the same incubator and I really believe that is what happened. Either way I can’t do this sort of thing.

        1. Hey Paul they are most definitely not Dominique. 3 of them are solid black black feet black beaks (3 are Roo’s they are getting red combs not Dominique type) 2 are hens the 2 hens have copper lacing and one of them her whole head is almost copper and has some light copper in her lacing, if you’d like I can send you a picture. Give me a call 704-883-2823 I can send you pictures. They are beautiful I will be keeping the 2 that are laced and rejoining the solid black one that I am pretty sure are roosters unfortunately. Out of the 7 I got from you I have one Dominique rooster (lovingly named Richard & 1 Dominique hen I named her Linda)

          1. Hey Caree, John raises Black Copper Marans as well as Dominiques so apparently he got them mixed up. I got 3 of them too in the ones I kept. Unfortunately he doesn’t have any to exchange at the moment either. I will refund you if you would like. I do apologize for the mix up. Let me know what you would like to do. I’ll call you this evening. Thanks, Paul

  11. Hi! I love your story!
I’m looking for a few ducklings, preferably Pekin or khakis. Do you have any available?

    1. I have only one or two but I have some hatching this weekend. Call me Saturday morning and we will see what has hatched. Should be Khakis, Pekins and Rouens I think.

  12. I would like to purchase 3 female pekin ducklings. Can you please let me know if you have them available and or when you may. Thank you kindly in advance.

    1. I’m not sure when the first pekins will hatch. I have the different breed duck eggs mixed in the incubator trays. My eggs hatch every Thursday so call me on Thursdays at 336-449-9574 to see if there is any hatched. I don’t sex them so they will be straight run and they will probably be both male and female mixed. Thanks and have a great day, Paul.

  13. Ok, thank you kindly for your response…..Sorry, I don’t want to take a chance of getting any more male ducks. I only want female. I’ll keep looking for someone in NC that sells sexed ducklings. Have a nice day.

  14. Hello, I was wondering if you had any male pekin ducks? I have a female who could use a friend or even a female would work. Thank you!

    1. I’m sorry but I don’t have any at this time. I have some baby rouen ducklings. That’s about it right now. Ducklings are selling out quickly this year.

  15. Hello, Old Biddy Hatchery

I’m try to get into the farm life and get into chickens do y’all offer classes or teach people on how to raise baby chicks to chickens and how to care for chickens. Thank you.

    1. Sorry I’ve been so long getting back to you but I don’t get on here very often. I don’t really teach any kind of classes but I do answer questions and try to help everyone as much as I can. I have a lot of first time chicken people coming in with questions and concerns from coop building to chicken problems. The best way to get me is to call. I don’t have the time to check the computer very often but I carry the phone with me most of the time while I’m working. My number is 336-449-9574. You can also come by and have a look around anytime you want but it’s a good idea to call and be sure I’ll be here when you want to come by. I have people come in and get ideas all the time, they ask questions, look at my set up, take pictures and things like that. I love to help people get started with their own flocks so come see me if you can.

    1. It will be spring before I have anymore. I’m having to do a lot of cleaning and remodeling around here so I had to stop hatching and concentrate on getting everything else done. I’ve had 2 heart attacks in about a year. I cant do what I use too. SORRY!
